Fantastic time spent at the Inaugural European Rural Crime Network Workshop kindly hosted by hashtag#MaynoothUniversity hashtag#DepartmentofAnthropology and led by Professor Mark Maguire and Mr. Barry Carey from the Irish Farmers Association.

We were treated to an impressive lineup of speakers as well as state and semi state agencies such as An Garda Síochána, Revenue (Ireland) Irish Farmers Association as well as a number of specialist organisations from across Europe that came together to discuss solutions and compare options to develop and build a strategy backed by a concerted effort to address the growing problem of European and indeed international rural crime and its links to transnational criminal enterprises.

EGRM were delighted to have been asked to attend this event and we would hope that it is only the first of many initiatives where collaboration and partnership between state, local authorities solution based service providers and impacted stakeholders come together to increase coordination and collaboration in an effort to combat this huge and growing problem.
